Profile Ee Foong spearheads ICIS Asia consulting as part of ICIS Consulting & Analytics global business He is a chemical engineer by training and has a very broad based experience covering domains in manufacturing technology, start ups, operations, distribution logistics, sales & marketing, commercial and business/project development including joint venture negotiation, equity and/or debt financing and all the accompanying industry, environmental, JV, financing and legal due diligence processes He has had intimate experiences cutting across the whole petrochemical and chemical value chain thus enabling him to synergize integration / development opportunities directly benefitting the interested parties Business Advisory Experience Ee Foong has been in the industry for 35 years and spent about half of that at Exxon Chemicals starting off as a process/start up/control engineer before moving in quick successions to take the leads in plant, shipping & distribution operations, planning and sales/marketing, firstly in the specialty, before the mid-stream Intermediate businesses He then moved to a commodity firm, ANSAC, taking the charge of the soda ash business in Asia Pacific region, developing while ensuring the core business remained intact in the challenging economical climates.
In addition, he re-organized the Asia operations establishing new logistic and distribution channels. Prior to his taking on the lead role to develop and realize from scratch a multi-billion dollar petrochemical complex, he had at various junctures spear-headed new business initiatives, start-ups, conducted numerous feasibility studies, negotiated feedstock supply and Contract of Affreightment (COA), both in Asia including China & Middle East Product wise, he has covered from specialties to intermediates to commodities, and condensate to gas as well as bio-products. Separately, he had had experience also working with international development aid agencies and financial institutions for funding developmental projects for emerging market
