Xiaolan Ren
Ren Xiaolan is the Director of Division I of Chemical Appeals Department of The Patent Reexamination Board of CNIPA and a Second-Level Examiner. She graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Lanzhou University with Master of Science and Bachelor of Law in 1995; at the same year, she joined SINOPEC Beijing Yanshan Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology; in August 2001, she began to work for Organic Chemistry Division of Chemical Invention Examination Department of CNIPA; in January 2006, she was transferred to The Patent Reexamination Board of CNIPA and assumed the offices of directors of Division of Chemical Appeals, Division II of Materials Engineering Appeals, Division of Administrative Appeals and Division of Personnel and Education successively. In 2011, she was temporarily transferred to the Civil Adjudication Tribunal No.3 (IPR Division) of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China for one year. As of now, she has published over 20 IPR-related articles, been in charge of or participated in 16 research projects, taken part in the preparation of 5 books and independently published 1 book. Additionally, she takes part in the modification of Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, Rules for the Implementation of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, Guidelines for Patent Examination, and Guideline to the Administrative Enforcement of Patent Law.
