EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Heather Lin is a patent attorney and senior partner at NTD Intellectual Property Attorneys. She joined the firm in 1994 and became a qualified patent attorney in 1996. She has received extensive IP trainings in the United States and Japan. With a biotech background, Ms Lin represents a full range of clients, from start-ups to multinational companies. Her practice primarily involves patent drafting and prosecution, patent infringement and validity opinions and litigation, as well as client counselling in IP strategic planning and portfolio management – with an emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She also advises clients regarding some China-specific IP issues such as utilization of Chinese genetic resources, inventor remuneration and technology import & export registration/approval.


Ms Lin is actively involved in the legislative process regarding Chinese patent law and is a frequent speaker at various IP forums and conferences, both in China and abroad. Her most recent presentation was entitled “Post-Filing Data in Pharmaceutical and Biotech Patents”, at the 6th ACPAA Annual Meeting & IP Seminar on May 22, 2015.


Ms Lin was elected as a National Intellectual Property Leading Talent by the State Intellectual Property Office of China in 2014. She has also been listed in IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2015 & 2016.
