Weihong Hsing (848),
Ph.D., J.D.is a partner at the law firm Panitch
Schwarze Belisario & Nadel LLP, Philadelphia, specializing in biotech
and pharmaceutical patent related issues. She had also worked as a patent
attorney at the law firms of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Reed Smith,
and a patent manager at Johnson & Johnson. Dr. Hsing has been named a
Pennsylvania “Rising Star” by Thomson Reuters every year since 2012 and
repeatedly selected for inclusion in the Best
Lawyers in America® since 2014. Prior to switching to the patent law, Dr.
Hsing worked as a research scientist at PrincetonUniversity and a biotech company and published research
papers in leading scientific journals including Science and Nature. She is an active volunteer with
the Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association and served as an
adjunct professor for an IP licensing course at Temple Law School. Dr. Hsing earned her J.D. cum laude from Temple University Beasley
School of Law, Ph.D. in microbiology from University of Massachusetts, and B.S.
in biology from the USTC. She also had four years of postdoctoral training in
genetics/molecular biology at Princeton University.
